"China's Innovative Rural Music Development Initiative", jointly launched by the propaganda departments of Zhejiang and Ningbo provinces, embodies the core concept of "new era, new countryside, new lifestyle, and new music". This initiative is centered on Ningbo, reaching out to the entire Zhejiang province and extending its influence nationwide. The first phase involves establishing one central hub in Ningbo, ten performance and exchange venues, and one hundred creative and experience camps. The ultimate goal is to position Zhejiang's Ningbo as the cradle of China's innovative rural music scene.

The China New Rural Music Development Center plans to conduct four seasonal music creation camps, an annual New Rural Music Festival, and an annual compilation of original works every year. Underpinning this initiative is the Ningbo New Rural Music Development Co., Ltd., a mixed-ownership enterprise tasked with the commercial operation of services related to new rural music.
