Originally established in Hanover, Germany in 1871, Continental Group stands as one of the premier global automotive component suppliers, ranking among the world's top 500 companies. In September 2009, Continental Tires (China) Co. Ltd was inaugurated in Hefei, marking the first major Chinese investment by the Continental Tire division.

Production at the Hefei plant commenced in May 2011. It has since progressed through three phases of construction, with phase four now underway. Additional facilities, including a two-wheeler plant, a research and development test center, an Asia-Pacific training center, and a self-repairing silent tire workshop, have also been constructed here. Currently, the workforce exceeds 2,000 personnel.

The plant boasts a high level of industrial automation, positioning it at the forefront of its industry. With ongoing expansion plans such as the second phase of the two-wheeler plant, the expansion of the R&D test center, and the phase four expansion of the passenger vehicle tire factory, the company anticipates the recruitment of more dedicated professionals.
