Alstom has been present in China for almost 60 years. It is one of the first Western companies to start business in China, well before the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and France in 1964. Alstom won its first railway project in 1958, supplying 25 locomotives to the Baocheng Line, China’s first electrified railway.
