Objective of job
To provide IP expertise on protecting company new technologies through intellectual property application and ensuring market access through FTO (freedom to operate) search (IP and technology);
To coach and guide the internal customers to follow company’s IP policy with patent filings;
Intellectual property liaison function for China
Main tasks
To collect and handle Invention Disclosures from China, to conduct patent search for relevant prior art and prepare search report from technical view.
To draft patent application documents, and to ensure and manage R&D results in China through patent application.
To plan, organize, coordinate, provide IP trainings /Workshop to internal colleagues to explore the idea, promote the awareness and harvest IDs.
To cooperate with HQ IP team to work on the comprehensive IP topic in order to protect local R&D results
To provide expert opinion regarding patent strategy to strengthen the business
To coordinate other relevant IP issues and provide consultation to BUs, and to coordinate with/instruct external law firms
Qualification
- University degree in science educational background in intellectual property is a plus
- Minimum 3 years working experience in the field of IP/patent (searching, drafting, prosecuting);
- Basic knowledge of science, automotive(EV)-related knowledge is an advantage;
- Ability to work independently;
- Must possess a high degree of integrity;
- Thinking and doing in a analytic/logic/innovative manner with a clear expression of thoughts;
- Fluent English (both written and orally), German language capability is an advantage;
- Good communication and interpersonal skills;
- Good team-worker.
- Good understanding of IP-related issues in different functions;
- Good search capabilities.
