ESSENTIAL DUTIES:
- Act as a sourcing liaison between suppliers and Generac teams
- Ensure suppliers complete timely and accurate submission of required milestone deliverables on any new projects
- Work with suppliers to analyze supplier change request (SCR) and communicate proposed changes to proper Generac team (Engineering, Sourcing, Purchasing, Supply Quality Engineering)
- Support and facilitate technical design reviews with suppliers to confirm functionality of the part/component and manufacturability
- Support sourcing activity coordination and processes for sourcing and participate in supplier selection, capability assessment, quality improvement, and supplier readiness
- Identify and Qualify suppliers, conduct initial potential/existing supplier evaluation, capability and capacity assessment including on-site quality (risk assessment) and technical process audits (Product process audits) to ensure conformance to corporate requirements
- Support to develop and implement strategies to improve supplier productivity/quality, and ensure supply chain continuity
- Assist to analyze audit results to develop, prioritize and execute corrective actions and supplier development action plans to continually improve supplier performance
- Assist to manage suppliers On Time Delivery (OTD)/On Time Shipment (OTS) performance
- Assist in timely resolution of delivery including expedite/defer requests, performance and quality raised by supplier or GPS staff
- Ensure suppliers meet all regulatory and compliance standards
- Contributes to technical collaboration with suppliers, sourcing, engineering, purchasing, operations, supplier quality engineering, plant quality, and other functional areas to implement cost reduction sourcing projects and strategic supply chain optimization initiatives
- Assist to negotiate supplier the part costs, tooling costs and project timeline deliverables
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s Degree
- 5 years of working experience in a manufacturing environment
- Proficient in English speaking, writing, and understanding
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering (Industrial, Mechanical, Electrical, Systems)
- Line operations experience working in a production or supply chain environment: Production supervision, materials, sourcing, distribution, logistics, planning, quality, or service
- Experience working with international companies and in matrix organizations
- Experience in demand flow principles and fulfillment methodologies
- Demonstrated understanding of financial measurements and goals in the lean enterprise
- Strong project leadership experience with a diversity of team skills
- Experience working in the sourcing, quality control and/or engineering fields
- Experience working with suppliers to develop project plans
- Experience working in the development cycle of new products (APQP)
- Strong negotiation skills
- Technical and supply base experience working with various commodities (e.g. electronics, fabricated/stamped metal parts, plastics, rubber, engine components and etc.)
- Understands regulatory requirements on new components sourcing (UL, CSA, CE, EPA and etc.)
- Experience with executing Change Processes
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of supplier contracts, product conformity, quality toolbox
- Demonstrated ability to influence senior management, teams, and individuals across a variety of settings
- Demonstrated problem-solving ability, including the ability to identify creative and effective solutions and the ability to ask the right questions and help frame logical conclusions
- Experience in collaborating with multiple sites and functions to drive common solutions
- Demonstrated personal flexibility in approach and ideas
- Strong organization, prioritization, and time management skills with the ability to adapt quickly to shifting priorities
- Sound business acumen operating in high mix, low volume and high volume, low mix production environments
- Strong interpersonal skills and excellent presentation and communication skills (written and oral in English)
- Proficiency in technical and commercial communication in local languages
- Demonstrated experience with business systems such as SAP, Oracle, and ARIBA
