Amazon is seeking a proactive and result oriented Accounting Manager based in Beijing. This role should have a solid understanding of US GAAP, tech backgrounds of finance/accounting related automation projects, excellent communication and organization skills, including the ability to anticipate, identify and communicate risks to business stakeholders, as well as a passion to continuously enhance processes.
Candidates for this position will be expected to demonstrate they were top performers at their level, who thrive in a fast-moving workplace environment, and can actively contribute to support our growing activity worldwide.
Key job responsibilities
- Supporting various aspects of our accounting and reporting process.
- End-to-end process ownership to support finance and business partners.
- Understand internal control design concepts sufficient to assess the effectiveness of controls in their area and to design new processes and controls for emerging and growing business activities.
- Execute judgments to keep projects moving and ensure the right decisions are reached to close the books each month.
- Escalating risks and issues as necessary to leadership.
- Strong sense of ownership.
- Ability to identify process improvement and automation opportunities to drive positive change across the organization.
- Lead delivery of accounting tasks and projects.
- Enhance partnerships between Accounting and various business and Tech groups.
- Collaborate closely with Accounting Global teams to drive standardization and automation regionally and globally.
- Research, conclude and memorialize technical accounting position papers.
Basic qualifications
8+ years of multiple finance and accounting roles experience
Experience communicating results to senior leadership
Experience in accounting management in Big Four with Fortune 500 clients
University degree in business/economics/accounting
Experience working with IFRS or US GAAP
Demonstrable ability to work to tight deadlines on critical projects
Detail-oriented yet able to reflect on and understand the big picture
Fluent in business English, both verbal and written
Must be comfortable working in cross-functional teams and in a fast-paced global company
Preferred qualifications
6+ years of participating in continuous improvement projects in your team to scale and improve controllership with measurable results experience
8+ years of experience with an emphasis on accounting, preferably, gained within an accounting firm or a medium to large international company, in a fast-paced and changing environment;
Knowledge of Oracle Financial Applications and SQL/ETL
Hold CPA or similar credentials
Experience in project management with exposure to Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and software testing
Strong priority management and communication skills
