Sr.Supplier Development Engineer

Work with cross functional teams including suppliers on new projects. Deliver PIQ (Purchase item qualification) & PPAP according to project schedule. Work with 3rd party to conduct the early production containment, to perform NPI inspection. Make sure NPI launches successfully without significant quality issues.

Witness the significant samples run for NPIs during product launch, solve the quality issues with a solid action plan, verify and validate the efficiency of action plans, to ensure products comply with Whirlpool’s quality, performance, reliability and other requirements.

Work with global regional quality colleagues to analyze the top failures. Drive continuous improvement to reduce global failure rate, via delivering sample return analysis, and delivering TCQ projects.

Utilize 8D or A3 to track significant quality issues, monitor till issues are closed.

Work with a global quality team, and lead certain strategic projects within the finished product quality team.

Work with 3rd party to qualify new suppliers, manage and coach suppliers to improve their quality system according to IATF16949, and develop suppliers if their quality system is lower than acceptance.

1). Education 教育程度 及专业

Bachelor Degree or above in engineering or Scientific.

2).Threshold Experience 工作经验

3-10 years above in quality, prefer to have experience in major or small appliance industry. Refrigerator, Dish Washer, Laundry experience is preferred.

Fluent English/Mandarin in both oral and written. Should be able use English to communicate projects with foreign colleagues

Ability to think creatively and drive problem solving with suppliers.

Good data analytical skills and presentation skills, able to use data to provide recommendation, and drive actions.

4). Functional Competencies:

Knowledge of product/process quality management as well as product development process.

Be able to travel domestically and also be able to have short international travel if required occasionally.

Understanding ISO9001 & IATF system requirements, a certified internal system auditor is preferred.

Understanding APQP, PPAP, 8D concepts and being able to utilize them.

Flexible working time, and being able to join the evening call with the global team. (around 2-6 hours in total of evening call per week)

Six sigma green belt knowledge is preferred. (Be able to understand SPC, MSE, CPK minimum)
