Product Developer (Lighting)

Responsibilities & Skills

61 Project Management: Assisting in managing the product development process, coordinating tasks, setting timelines, and tracking progress. Collaborating with cross-functional teams to ensure smooth workflow and timely delivery of lighting products.

61 Account Management: Collaborate closely with international clients to develop lighting items based on their specific requirements. Monitor project progress, review and report updates to maintain client satisfaction, and ensure timely project delivery.

61 Vendor Coordination: Maintain regular communication with suppliers to track project milestones and ensure that development progress aligns with customer expectations. Follow up daily to address any issues or concerns that may arise during the project.

61 Design and Engineering Collaboration: Collaborating with design and engineering teams to translate product concepts into tangible designs. Providing input and feedback during the design process to ensure functional and aesthetically appealing lighting products.

61 Prototyping and Testing: Participating in the prototyping and testing phase of new lighting products. Working closely with the engineering team to refine designs, address technical challenges, and ensure product performance and compliance with safety standards.

61 Material and Component Selection: Researching and selecting suitable materials, components, and technologies for lighting products. Considering factors such as durability, energy efficiency, cost-effectiveness, and environmental sustainability.

61 Documentation and Specifications: Creating detailed product documentation, including specifications, bill of materials, and manufacturing instructions. Ensuring accurate and comprehensive information is provided to support production and quality control processes.

61 Regulatory Compliance: Ensuring lighting products meet applicable industry standards and regulatory requirements. Staying informed about safety regulations, energy efficiency guidelines, and environmental certifications to guide product development decisions.

61 Market Analysis and Competitor Research: Conducting market research and competitor analysis to identify market opportunities, consumer preferences, and competitive advantages. Utilizing insights to inform product positioning, price points, and marketing strategies.

61 Conducting research on technologies, design trends, and user preferences to inform product development.

61 Collaboration and Communication: Collaborating with internal teams and operations to align product development plans with business objectives.

Personality

You are hardworking, proactive, multi-tasking, fast-paced with strong communication, presentation and interpersonal skills. You are keen to utilize your design and development skill set to generate commercially competitive products within the lighting industry. You have prior knowledge and genuine interest in the contemporary Lighting design world and are looking to expand on this.

Willing and able to travel to Hongkong office 2-3 days per week and have a firm grasp of both verbal and written Chinese and English. Prior experience in merchandising and buying is a bonus and ideal candidates would benefit from having this prior knowledge, handling orders with buyers in Europe and vendors in Mainland China.
