Key Responsibilities:
The Legal Counsel Specialist will play a crucial role in ensuring the company's compliance with legal standards and internal policies. This position will be responsible for Know Your Customer (KYC) activities, managing company contracts, and providing legal counsel to the finance department and/or other internal/external business partners.
KYC Activities (Weight 40%)
89 Conduct thorough KYC due diligence for new and existing clients to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements.
89 Develop and maintain KYC procedures and policies in line with the latest regulations
89 Identify and assess potential risks related to KYC and propose mitigation strategies
89 Collaborate with various departments to gather and verify client information and documentation.
89 Maintain accurate and up-to-date KYC records and ensure timely reviews and updates.
Contract Management (Weight 40%)
89 Draft, review, and negotiate various types of company contracts, including but not limited to service agreements, procurement contracts, and confidentiality agreements
89 Ensure that all contracts comply with legal requirements and internal policies.
89 Provide legal advice on contractual matters and resolve any contractual disputes.
89 Manage the contract lifecycle, from initial drafting to execution and renewal.
89 Maintain a central repository for all contracts and ensure proper documentation and storage.
Legal Counsel (Weight 20%):
89 Provide legal advice and support to the finance department on various legal matters.
89 Coordinate with both Global Legal for the activities/legal proceedings of IP protections
89 Take lead for the legal actions for IP infringement or other leagal disputes/cases/procedings in China
89 Monitor and ensure compliance with local and international laws and regulations.
89 Conduct legal research and stay updated on legal developments affecting the company.
89 Assist in the development and implementation of legal policies and procedures.
89 Support the Director of Legal, Risk, and Compliance in various legal projects and initiatives.
Qualification:
85 Working Experience:
89 Minimum of 5 years of relevant legal experience, preferably in a corporate or financial environment.
89 Experience with KYC processes and contract management is highly desirable.
85 Education Background:
89 Bachelor’s degree or above in Law. A Master’s degree or additional qualifications in compliance or risk management is a plus.
85 Competency & Certification:
89 Strong understanding of KYC regulations and best practices
89 Excellent legal drafting and negotiation skills.
89 Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
89 Detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
89 Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
89 Excellent command of MS Office (Word, Excel, PPT).
85 Language:
89 Proficiency in English (oral and written).
89 Mandarin proficiency is required.
Others:
89 High level of integrity and professionalism.
89 Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines
89 Willingness to occasionally travel if required.
