Summary of Position:
This position provides regulatory guidance and expertise to business units regarding regulatory requirements for selling products and conducting business in their region. Utilizes knowledge of chemical-control laws related to the manufacture, distribution, and sale of Vibrantz products in the market. Manages compliance with local, national and regional chemical control laws, hazard communication requirements, transportation classifications, and other product compliance topics.
Major Areas of Activity/Responsibility:
1. Evaluate products, intermediates, and R&D materials to determine proper hazard determination and transportation classification.
2. Work with operations, R&D and suppliers to bridge any data gaps required for the proper classification of Vibrantz products.
3. Work with R&D, Operations, and Customer Service to ensure all products are compliant with chemical control laws specific to the countries and/or regions where they are manufactured and shipped.
4. Manage and support the notification and registration of substances and products to regional or country inventories, including the coordination and preparation of regulatory submissions to various government agencies.
5. Provide guidance to R&D, Sales, and customers related to various product compliance topics.
6. Participate in cross functional teams to ensure regulatory compliance processes are consistently applied across all regions and business units, including developing and implementing best practices whenever possible.
7. Manage regulatory updates related to hazard classification of Vibrantz products.
8. Author Safety Data Sheets (SDS) within Vibrantz systems to support manufacturing sites and business units.
9. Work directly with customers to provide regulatory compliance information related to our products.
10. Supply and maintain required hazard communication information for product labeling.
11. Manage responses to business and customer inquiries related to Product Stewardship and regulatory requests.
12. Perform other job-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications:
BA/BS related degree or equivalent years of experience in the EHS field.
Strong education, training, or experience with chemical control regulations.
Strong aptitude in math, chemistry, engineering, toxicology, and/or environmental science.
Effective and efficient data interpretation. The ability to review, assess, and assimilate health, safety, toxicological, and physical/chemical component and product data to create SDS and label content.
Solid understanding of local, national, regional and global product stewardship compliance.
Strong skills in SAP and other regulatory software applications.
Strong interpersonal and public relation skills.
Ability to coordinate multiple assignments.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Experience implementing hazard communication requirements.
Experience conducting hazardous transportation classifications.
