Technologist, PU Elastomers APAC

Running projects with Technical Manager, PU Elastomers APAC to work seamlessly with the Global PU Application Team and the Asia regional commercial team by providing product development and technical support activities to achieve profitable growth and continuous diversification of business.

2. Principal Accountabilities:

a. EHS

61 Ensure all activities in laboratory and machine hall will comply with company EHS standard with zero reportable accident.

61 Maintaining awareness and adhering to EH&S procedures and standards.

b. Product development

61 Ensure optimum products development by using the combined resources of the Global Application Teams in Asia, EAME & USA.

61 Coordinate with Technical Manager to develop the specified request products for Asia countries and update the progress regularly.

61 Transfer the system management and operation technology to country technician for the product commercialization smoothly.

c. Capability improvement

To promote personal capability and professional experience for Elastomer product applications by:

61 Refresh the market trend regularly and keep high personal sensitivity for new products application in new market.

61 Collect competitive information including products / activities / literatures.

61 Establish good communication links with Asia Commercial & Technical Service teams.

61 Keeping high efficiency of teamwork in APAC.

4. Knowledge / Experience / Skills Needed

(education, experience, skills and training required for the job)

a. Technical and Practical

61 Formulating experience as well as reaction chemistry experience within an industrial framework.

61 A sound knowledge of the materials and processes management in product production, including safety aspects.

b. Managerial

61 The incumbent must have the capability to focus on goals and skills to set priorities in coordinating project and technical activities.

c. Human Relations

The incumbent must have the ability to deal with team members across different cultures, customers, suppliers, operations and other business personnel in APAC.

d. Formal Training & Experience

61 Qualifications in Chemistry / Applied Chemistry / Polymers / Chemical Engineering preferably with a higher degree and/or relevant Industrial experience.

61 Minimum of 2 years experience in the formulation of PU Elastomer products and 2 years related industrial experience will be preferred.

e. Education and Personal Skills

61 Bachlor or Master degree with major in chemical-related subjects.

61 Good English communication in oral speak and reading.

61 Familiar with Power Point and Excel skills.
