Material Project Manager - China

GN China is currently on a look out for a Material Project Manager to join Material Supply Management team in Xiamen/Shenzhen/HKSAR, China.

The primary responsibility for the position is to play a crucial role in material readiness both in NPI and MP projects. Responsible for working with Tier 1 vendors to ensure adequate materials are in place to cover GN demand. Ensure timely escalation to cover shortage items to Global Material Management team, so they can be worked on. Must stay on top of the latest demand and availability and always work ahead of shortages. Including and not limited to the below:

Material Management for both NPI and Sustaining projects:

- Responsibility for material readiness for all builds (Proto, Alpha, Beta, Pilot + MP) and material buffer.

- Facilitate and drive cross functional material meetings including suppliers.

- Ensure POs are placed to T1 and T2 and follow up on deliveries according to project plan

- Ensure Bill of Materials is correct and initiate Risk Buy if/when needed

- Identify issues early and monitor/drive these to resolution prior to ramp/production.

- Ensure timely shortages escalation to Global Material Management team.

- Collaborate with the Global Supply Management (GSP) and Global Material Management (GMM) to make sure we allocate parts to the highest benefit to the company.

- Involve all relevant stakeholders on allocation plan.

- Build and maintain reports and summaries on a regular (weekly/daily) basis. Ensure data is accurate and on time. So that we can see clearly on the latest developments.

Excess and Obsolete Analysis and Closure - during NPI phases:

- Responsible for Excess and Obsolete cost analysis

- Take actions with cross functional partners and suppliers to reduce risk and cost

- Release PO to cover those excess and obsolete costs, make sure they are cleared up before passing to sustaining side.

You will get your hand on the following exciting tasks:

- Weekly monitor and update of FC and ensure material available for production

- Monitor and follow up on ECO/ECR’s

- Report the Material status overview to project team

- Highlight material potential shortage and challenges the NPD project for implementation and provide the continuity of status update to project team.

A strong operational, Tactical and strategic individual, we imagine the following sounds like you:

- Solid Supply Chain and/or Procurement background with at least 3 -5 years documented experience

- Excellent communication skills and cultural awareness

- Display very strong sense of Drive and Ambition whilst simultaneously being Humble and Pragmatic

- Proven track record in developing, maintaining, and building relationships with external suppliers
