Deputy Director of Alumni Relations

The role holder will provide professional advice, direction, and input across a range of activities based on a combination of practical and theoretical knowledge of audience engagement and will be responsible for leading and managing a team and it's resources to ensure the effectiveness of DARO in achieving its objective of increasing levels of advocacy, volunteering, and philanthropic funding to UNNC.

Alongside the Director, the role holder will ultimately lead on and bring alive the alumni engagement proposition to ensure alumni across the world are willing to support the work of UNNC (in the short term and/or long term).

Your key responsibilities include:

61 Develop and deliver a strategic approach to harnessing the time, expertise and influence of alumni living locally, nationally, and internationally;

61 Cultivate and manage relationships with alumni, identifying a compelling link between them, their interests, and the opportunities available to support UNNCs priorities. Apply initiative to devise varied methods of cultivation to establish a dialogue;

61 Lead the customer service provided to UNNCs 20,000+ alumni living globally;

61 Manage colleagues in the Alumni Relations team, deploying, recruiting, monitoring, and supporting the development of team members to ensure that individual contributions are maximized;

61 Partner with Deputy Director of Development to maximise the overall contribution of each individual and identify any who may be prospective donors;

61 Maintain and enhance personal knowledge, skills and networks by keeping abreast of best practice in volunteering and advocacy, and key developments in local culture and context: sharing information with UNNC colleagues.

About You

61 Bachelor's degree;

61 Proven verbal and written communication skills with an ability to engage with a widevariety of people and handle confidential or sensitive information;

61 Thorough knowledge and understanding of volunteering best practice;

61 Knowledge or experience of handling sensitive data and an understanding of China's Data Protection legislation.
