Job Description - Assistant Manager / Senior Engineer, Product QA
JOB DESCRIPTION
1. JOB FUNCTION:
Product Evaluation, Testing and Certification
- Research with 3rd Party laboratories on required Test Plan - product safety, regulatory, performance and local country (i.e. importation and/or certification) requirements.
- Analyse and conclude the required Test Plan for Link internal teams and Client’s Supplier Quality Assurance (SQA) to approve.
- Conduct Label Review with technical comment on the correctness of the listed contents (i.e. symbols, instructions and applicable languages).
- Manage Pre-Purchase/Production and Production/Intervention testing activities are in accordance with concluded Test Plan to ensure result is available per project timeline and is clearly communicated to Link internal teams. Should there be a test failure, he/she must be able to provide guidance/direction in terms of possible areas of correction/improvement.
- Develop Product Inspection Checklists/Protocols to ensure mass production conformance is properly executed and appropriately checked by Link QC and/or Link-appointed 3rd Party inspection service providers.
- Review inspection report and follow up analysis/investigate made by vendors/manufacturers through merchandising.
- Conduct Product Risk Assessment of products using in-house evaluation toolkit.
Technical Support on Chain of Custody (CoC)/Declaration of Conformity (DoC) to Suppliers/Factories and Merchandising
- Provide technical support to all product categories across different product-specific Merchandising teams in terms of product safety, regulatory, performance and local country (i.e. importation and/or certification) requirements across different markets around the world. Also, the support extends to CoC and DoC management up to the raw materials level as per mandated by clients.
Product Specification Generation and Review
- Review different brands’ Vendor Manuals / Guides to understand Clients’ product testing, inspection criteria & requirements and appointed 3rd Party labs to be used.
- Generate Product Specification to include concluded Test Plan and Product Inspection Checklist / Protocol and support in reviewing if basic (and necessary) fields within Bill of Materials (BOM) supplied by manufacturer is missing/lacking in contents.
Reporting and Documentation
- Prepare documentations - Technical Specifications, Work Instructions and Standard Operating Procedures.
- Provide client-requested information as per defined timelines.
- Quality standards, documentations and engineering reports are managed appropriately out of the SharePoint.
- Compile QC Files on/before the scheduled inspection dates to support the Link QC and/or 3rd Party QC operations through effective modes of communication.
2. JOB REQUIREMENT:
- MUST have QA working experience for pet brands and worked with factories who produce items for pets OR at least a strong QA experience in commodities used on pet items or accessories / children.
- At least 8 years of working experiences at 3rd Party Labs in a Customer Support / Service capacity and 6-8 years in sourcing offices for Hardgoods and Softlines.
- Must possess excellent oral and written English communication skill as this role will need to interact with overseas Clients’ QA teams.
- Maintain effective and efficient communication with all parties.
- Well-organized and able to handle multi-tasks at the same time.
