As a Data Scientist within Taizhou Operations, you’ll play a pivotal role in

channeling our scientific capabilities to make a positive impact on changing

What you’ll do

Our Supply site is Astrazeneca Digital Lighthouse, Lean Digital team is

leading site digital transformation to smart factory, We operate in a highly

cross-disciplinary environment in close collaboration with a broad variety of

expert teams across the company globally. Our analytics projects and solutions

span across the entire value chain: e.g., Inbound, Warehousing, Weighing &

Dispensing, Manufacturing, Quality, and Outbound, as well as support functions

such as Maintenance, Supply and Production Planning, etc.

As a Data Scientist, you will direct the application of sophisticated

quantitative expertise in advanced mathematical disciplines to develop

innovative data-science solutions. Success in this role requires the

combination of domain knowledge and application of advanced modelling

algorithms to generate business insights.

You will work in a collaborative environment in project teams that are close

to the business, delivering solutions of high value. You will work with other

Data Scientists and partnering groups to promote standard methodologies across

multiple domains. You are adaptable and are willing to learn new tools and

technologies. You are interested in advancing your career while improving our

team’s effectiveness within AstraZeneca.

Typical responsibilities include:

61 Coordinate the implementation of novel modelling solutions designed to

drive the interrogation of datasets for insights within defined project scopes.

This includes integrating complex data from multiple different sources and

modalities and applying specialized approaches from data science

61 Use domain-specific understanding to translate unstructured, complex

business problems into tractable data problems for which analytical solutions

can be created

61 Develop advanced predictive models and computational methods to guide and

shape decision-making within project scopes

61 Operate as a subject-matter expert by providing training and advice to

collaborators regarding the optimal use of key data, analysis platforms, and

data science

61 Build and manage effective relationships with partners to ensure value

realization of delivered resources and services. Clearly and objectively

communicate results — as well as their associated uncertainties and limitations

— to shape solutions

61 Maintain productionised data-science solutions and ways of working to

meet requirements (regulatory and evidential) and high-quality standards within

project scopes

Essentials for the role

61 Master’s Degree (or relevant work experience) in mathematics, statistics,

, computer science, engineering or a related quantitative field

61 Ability to independently approach other domain fields, evaluate the data

readiness, draw conclusions and recommend actions

61 Experience using Python for data manipulation of common data formats and

visualization skills for fast idea validation

61 Experience using Python for machine-learning model training and

validation

61 Experience with Deep Learning in computer vision, NLP or other fields

Self-led and someone who takes initiatives

61 A good communicator and used to collaborate with partners who have a wide

range of different competencies – including those with no programming experience

61 Experience with database systems (SQL preferred, though NoSQL may also be

useful)

61 Fluent in English — both in speaking and writing

Desirables for the role

Experience with:

61 Cloud platforms (e.g., Snowflake, AWS, Azure)

61 Software development tools and principles (e.g., version control, shared

repositories, CICD, scrum, agile)

61 Business intelligence tools (e.g., Qlik Sense, Power BI)
