Mechanical Process Engineer

The Mechanical Process Engineer will be a key player in the design and development of our wireless charging products. This role requires a technically proficient individual who can lead the development of high-performance , ensuring they meet rigorous testing requirements and industry standards. The successful candidate will collaborate with cross-functional teams, including external partners, to optimize the design process and ensure our products remain at the forefront of the market.

Responsibility:

61 Risk Mitigation through Design Solutions:

87 Implement effective design solutions that address and mitigate risks throughout the product development process.

61 Leadership in Product Development:

87 Heavily involved in the entire product development process, managing all enquiries and issues with minimal input from the line manager.

87 Lead development projects focused on process, material and design improvements within our product range.

61 Provision of Solid Product Suggestions:

87 Offer well-founded suggestions based on thorough understanding and analysis of product requirements.

61 Optimization of Development Processes with Vendors:

87 Streamline development processes with vendors to ensure the quickest timelines for GS.

87 Support vendors with process and operational controls to optimize efficiency and quality.

61 Quality Control and Improvement:

87 Establish and maintain high-quality standards, reducing the rate of returns through proactive quality engineering.

61 Cost Management:

87 Identify and implement cost-saving measures without compromising product quality.

61 Cross-Departmental Collaboration:

87 Foster strong collaboration with the NPD and other relevant teams to ensure seamless integration of design and production efforts.

61 Vendor Relationship Management:

87 Build and maintain strong relationships with vendors, ensuring their alignment with company goals and standards.

61 Innovation and Continuous Improvement:

87 Encourage and drive continuous improvement initiatives, keeping the company at the forefront of innovation in the soft goods sector.

61 Training and Mentorship:

87 Provide guidance and mentorship to junior team members or members with less direct soft goods knowledge, contributing to the overall development and strength of the team.

Qualification:

Essential

61 Experience with consumer electronic products with product design/development background.

61 Understanding of product design, tooling technologies, material types for wireless charging, adaptors, Power bank, etc.

61 Good knowledge of engineering plastics and moulding techniques (PC, TPU, TPE, ABS, PA66) and metals (stamping and die-casting)

● Knowledge of DFX in terms of feasibility, quality, post process (printing, coating, assembly etc) and cost. Be able to do the evaluation innovative based on the product requirement.

61 Understanding testing standards. Be able to lead the testing jig design, carry out the crucial testing and fix the failure model.

61 Experienced with product assembly and dealing with technical issues.

61 Be able to & verify the assemble jigs and process.

61 Experienced with quality control (FAI, SPC, CPK). Be able to collect the data and do the analysis through out the MP to reduce the variation.

61 Rich experience in troubleshooting and communication with technicians.

61 Understanding of the APQP (Advanced Product Quality Planning).

61 Experience with CAD software for design and simulation.

Nice to Have

61 Specific knowledge of SolidWorks.

61 Experience with product design.

61 FEA analysis: Thermal conductivity, Cooling solution

Soft skills:

61 Effective communication skills and self-motivation.

61 Fluent in English.

61 Strong teamwork with the ability to upskill his colleagues

61 Confident to lead a function and get results once aligned with line manager
