Firmware Test Engineer

We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Software Tester who is responsible for ensuring our products meet customer expectations and maintain our high quality standards.

Key Responsibilities

Design and execute test plans and test cases for embedded firmware.

Perform functional, stress, regression, and integration testing.

Identify, document, and track firmware defects and inconsistencies.

Collaborate with firmware developers and other engineering staff to resolve issues.

Develop automated tests and tools for firmware testing.

Analyze test results, prepare test reports, and present findings to the development team.

Ensure compliance with industry standards and specifications.

Maintain and update test equipment and environments.

Stay updated with the latest testing technologies and methodologies relevant to embedded systems.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or a related technical field.

Proven experience as a Firmware Tester, Embedded Systems Tester, or similar role.

Strong understanding of embedded system software/firmware.

Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Linux

Familiarity with embedded development tools, emulators, debuggers, and test instruments.

Knowledge of communication protocols such as SPI, I2C, UART, etc.

Experience with version control systems, preferably Git.

Ability to read schematics and data sheets for components.

Experience with real-time operating systems (RTOS).
