Acoustical Engineer
Overview
This individual will be responsible for assisting R&D director to fulfill new project / product design and development. Excellent 3D computer skill. Good communication skills and ability to work with a variety of people in a wide range of functional areas is mandatory. Good understanding of speaker manufacturing process and material features is desirable.
Report To
R&D director
Responsibilities
l Measure and evaluate the driver samples of ESG, pre-production prototypes and mass-production
l Guide and train the internal test team
l Working with engineers to fully understand the required product features, application and performance, translating product specifications and concepts into engineering
l Reverse engineering, and suggest improvements in design for added value for the customer, or to decrease manufacturing costs
l Engineering analysis including structure strength and integrity, reliability, efficiency, material specification, manufacturability, safety, certification, and testing
l Developing product 3D modeling, engineering drawing with specifications
l Working with sourcing team on supplier development, prototyping, testing and qualifications
l Project management to deliver new product on time, at targeted costs, and in high quality
l Design drivers and cabinet systems under R&D director direction
l To make related documents
l Take part in new product PP
l Take down all design disadvantage discovered in PP and assist to solve it
l Work with engineer on design failure which causes production low pass rate
l Perform other tasks assigned by superior
Education and Experience
l Minimum 5 years’ experience in product development and mechanical design, preferably in speakers /multimedia / audio / electronics industries
l Familiarity with loudspeaker test software
l Major in Acoustical , Mechanical Engineering or related area
l Good understanding of speakers manufacturing process and material features
l Proficient in 3D computer operation
l Strong communication and coordination skills
l Good command of English in writing and speaking is preferred
l Minimum 3 years’ solid experience in acoustic/loudspeaker/audio system
