Primary purpose(s) of position:

The Commodity Buyer will lead and drive the purchasing strategy of a defined Purchased parts commodity and provide DRiV’s Global Aftermarket business unit in Europe with the required products and services, at the best quality, cost, and delivery.

Main duties performed / job description:

· Prepare RFQ strategy on sourcing projects.

· Launch global cost optimization programs with focus on cost of goods approaches, quality and supply chain optimizations, complexity reductions, international synergies & re-sourcing initiatives.

· Responsible for securing and analyzing quotations and negotiating prices and terms with suppliers.

· Coordinates quality, engineering and price changes between Company components and suppliers.

· Provide assistance to Purchasing Manager on daily follow up communication with suppliers on project followups.

· Data and documentation entrance to the required databases

· Prepare required documentation for supplier meetings or negotiations.

· Prepare presentations to management for sourcing events.

· Attend meetings as required to support or represent the Purchasing Manager.

· Helps to develop new suppliers when new material/component needs are necessary for new business.

· Coordinates with Supplier Quality to ensure that new suppliers are qualified appropriately.

· Reports on monthly basis cost savings against budget to the Global Purchasing Manager

· Monitor weekly suppliers’ delivery performance to Federal-Mogul Distribution Centers.

· Manages Purchasing System – SAP and be the key user for SAP - Materials Management

Job requirements / Competences:

· Excellent proficiency in MS Office tools: Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint and Word

· Ready for hard-working in a challenging, changing and demanding environment

· Fluent in English language is essential. Other languages are advantageous

· Excellent communication skills, with the ability to communicate at all levels both internally and externally.

· Experience in manufacturing operations, program management or engineering advantageous.

· Must have strong negotiation skills.

· Must possess excellent writing, presentation, and organizational skills.

Educational Level:

· Minimum/Essential: Bachelor’s degree in either Business Administration or Engineering is essential.

· Desirable: MBA, additional courses or certificates regarding excel (advanced, Macro etc) are preferred

Experience level:

· Minimum/Essential: Minimum of 3 years’ experience in a similar role, with proven track record in successfully managing contracts.
