Garment Techinician

· Offer needed tech services to relevant LS&Co teams, in development, costing,

and preproduction of various LS&Co apparel product categories.

· Ensure satisfactory quality and bulk executability of developed products.

· Maintain standard garment constructions and pattern manipulation practices.

· Utilize saving potential on garment construction during product development.

· Ensure smooth communication in tech-related information among internal and

external counterparts.

· Enhance & utilize tech capability of vendors, for better service to LS&Co

with high level of independency.

Key Metrics:

· Apparel products of China Local Engine are properly developed & produced,

with correct fit, grading, construction, and design aesthetics, meeting LS&CO

product standards in a timely and cost-effective manner.

· Product risks are well minimized and managed before bulk-start.

· Product and tech information / documents are systematically recorded, filed

and maintained.

· Internal and external counterparts are well communicated and aligned in tech

aspects.

· Satisfactory feedback from internal counterparts, with KPI met or exceeded.

Key Responsibilities:

All apparel products of China Local Engine:

·Product development garment-tech services

·Sample evaluation / approval

·Product risk analysis and tech problem solving

·New vendor assessment & startup, capacity evaluation

·Costing support

· Maintenance on LS&Co standard garment construction, pattern manipulation

practice, and relevant documentations

Key Relationships:

·Teams of China Local Engine: mainly PD / SSM, Design

·NAS PI/QA, Tech Services

Travel Required (%)

10 ~ 20%

Education:

University / College graduate in Clothing Studies, Apparel Design or

equivalent.

Experience:

·5 years+ (8 years+ for Senior Technician) solid working experience in

clothing industry with strong technical background in garment production.

·Solid knowledge and experience in pattern construction and fitting.

·Senior Technician: able to plan and execute jobs / projects very

independently, with minimal supervision.

·Factory production experience is highly preferred.

Functional Competencies:

·Pattern construction & fitting

·Computer-aided pattern software operation

·Knowledge in garment production technique, machinery and technology

·Sample evaluation & quality analysis

·Written English: essential in sample evaluation reporting, and in information

communication

·Good command of computer operations

·Strong sense of responsibility; self-motivated; disciplined; innovative

·Can work independently while being a good team-player

·Occasional travel is required (mainly to factories and to Hong Kong office)

·Experience in costing is an advantage
