DNV Energy Systems China is therefore seeking a highly motivated Senior Consultant with advisory experience in developing decarbonization strategies (GHG mitigations, Abatement Opportunity Identification, Decarbonization Roadmaps, etc.). The role reports to the Decarbonization & Digitalization Market Area Manager in China, responsible for the decarbonization advisory services delivery locally, and as part of the APAC/Global decarbonization specialists’ network to support international projects.

Primary tasks of the position:

? Working on a broad range of decarbonization-related projects, which may include work scopes such as:

? Develop greenhouse gas inventories scope 1, 2 and 3 for customer’s assets.

? Calculating LCA or PCF impacts for customer projects and products.

? Technical advisory work relating to the identification, quantification and prioritization of abatement opportunities for customers mainly in energy related sectors.

? Techno-economic decarbonization strategy and roadmap development.

? Developing models ranging from high level to detailed, to quantify the impact of concepts and decisions on the baseline carbon emissions of our customers.

? Advisory work relating to the implications of (inter)national standards and regulations related to decarbonization operations, products, technologies and value chains.

? Energy efficiency studies and implementation of energy management systems as a key part to decarbonize organizations.

? Market study related to renewables, green power, green fuels, etc.

? Ensuring that projects are executed within scope, quality, budget and timetable as per the requirements.

? Leading and supporting the production of presentations, proposals, technical reports and other relevant deliverables.

? Fostering positive relationships with clients to deepen understanding of clients’ decarbonization needs and providing expertise to support clients’ decarbonization initiatives.

? Supporting profiling through attending/presenting at related technical conferences and workshops.

? Networking and liaising internally to build local delivery competence and collaboration between different teams.

Qualifications:

? Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in relevant disciplines (decarbonization, energy, petrochemical, mechanical or electrical engineering, energy policies & strategy, etc.) from an accredited university.

? A minimum of 8+ years of decarbonization related professional experience in consulting or project management in the energy field, preferably related to oil & gas and petrochemical industry.

? Good track record of leading, writing, winning proposals and delivering/managing projects in relevant domains, PM Certification is a plus.

? Decent knowledge of the energy nexus (policy, regulatory, economics, technologies, interfaces, risks, commercial aspects, tendencies…) which facilitate the energy transition.

? Excellent analytical skills - able to analyse complex problems and work with large data sets, preferably with modelling capability and knowledge of relevant digital tools.

? Communicate effectively in English, verbally and in written form, including proven ability to produce concise written technical reports.

? Advisory experience related to the wider decarbonatization arena (renewables, hydrogen, CCS, green fuels) and ESG, ETS, ISCC, etc. is considered a plus.

? A positive and proactive attitude, with a solution-oriented mindset, be self-motivated and resilient.

? Good personal skills and constructive teamwork spirit.
