Mechanical Design Engineer BU设计工程师

RESPONSIBILITY: Responsible for Project Mechanical Services Design works including Chilled water system, cooling tower water system, heating hot water system, vacuum system, boiler system, compressed air, natural gas, lab gas, etc., and coordination with other design team members.

AREAS OF ACCOUNTABILITY:

1. Manage mechanical design for individual projects.

2. Good understanding of mechanical issues and able to work in a design team environment.

3. Attend client and design meetings and display a professional image.

4. Good understanding of major design steps and the design deliverables required.

5. Ability to follow CPL design management & quality management systems.

6. Good understanding of mechanical calculations required to design complex buildings.

7. Good understanding of mechanical suppliers and able to select good quality equipment.

8. Responsible for laying out equipment within the designed buildings.

9. Responsible for coordination of mechanical equipment with other services, architecture and structure.

10. Strong working knowledge of AutoCAD and able to prepare professional design drawings.

11. Good working knowledge of Chinese GB codes and regulations.

12. Good understanding of specifications and ability to write specs in English and Chinese.

13. Development of mechanical calculation schedules & equipment data sheets.

14. Coordination of budget estimating for design works.

15. Involvement with design permits, as required, and assisting with design approvals.

16. Involvement in procurement activities and provide technical advice to construction teams.

17. Liaison with the appropriate authorities for utilities connections.

18. Manage and work to design deadlines.

19. Advise on any changes to design and potential cost impacts.

20. Manage/liaise with local design institute for design work and approvals.

21. Have good environmental and energy efficiency focus for design and equipment selection.

22. Quality issues to be resolved promptly.

23. Good understanding of commissioning and balancing activities to design systems appropriately.

24. Assist other team members as required.

25. Any other tasks maybe assigned to you by your direct manager.

26. Technical support to construction team on site as required.

27. Help procurement to prepare technical document and technical evaluation.

PROFESSIONAL QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor’s degree in mechanical engineering discipline.

Registered engineer will be more competitive.

EXPERIENCE:

Minimum 10+ years experience in design-based roles.

SKILLS AND ATTRIBUTES:

1. Good knowledge and understanding of mechanical systems, equipment and design.

2. Strong computer literacy (ideally with Microsoft Office, Project, AutoCAD and specific mechanical calculation tools).

3. Ability to work in English and possess good written and oral English.

4. Good Presentation and Communication skill.

5. Ability to work autonomously and under pressure, with a sense of urgency, to meet constant deadlines.

6. Well organised, an ability to prioritise, with good time management skills.

7. Capability of gathering information to make good decisions relating to the design of the project.

8. The ability to show leadership within the design team (particularly with the clients), whilst being part of the overall design team.
