Key responsibilities:
61 Develop, update, and implement CDD processes and operational guidance in line with regulatory requirements, industry standards, and the organization’s risk appetite.
61 Input into the creation and maintenance of CDD policies to ensure that they effectively identify, assess, and manage risks associated with customers, including anti-money laundering (AML), counter-terrorist financing (CTF), and other regulatory compliance requirements.
61 Lead the rollout of CDD processes across business units, ensuring consistency and alignment with the organization's overall risk management framework.
61 Stay up-to-date with local, national, and international regulatory changes (e.g., FATF recommendations, AML regulations) and adjust CDD processes as necessary.
61 Work closely with compliance teams to ensure that the CDD policies meet all regulatory requirements.
61 Develop and deliver training programs for staff on CDD processes and operational guidance, ensuring they are well-versed in how to identify and address potential risks.
61 Foster a culture of compliance, ensuring Onboarding and KYC teams understand the importance of due diligence and the risks of non-compliance.
61 Monitor the effectiveness of CDD processes and suggest improvements to enhance efficiency and compliance.
61 Identify any gaps in the CDD process and collaborate with relevant stakeholders to close those gaps.
61 Liaise with business units, operations, and IT departments to ensure the design of CDD processes are practical for day-to-day operations.
61 Provide guidance and support to business units in implementing the CDD policies and processes and resolving any compliance issues that arise.
61 Prepare reports on the status of CDD policy implementation and compliance for senior management and regulatory bodies.
Be Accountable To:
61 Senior Management for supporting implementation of customer due diligence policies,
61 Relevant stakeholders for providing guidance and support in operationalising CDD.
61 Regulatory bodies for adhering to industry standards and regulations.
Peer and Stakeholder Relationship:
61 Provide regular communication between business resources, stakeholders & management
61 Facilitate workshops and other forums in the identification and resolution of complex issues or new opportunities
61 Contribute and participate in team activities, e.g., meetings, planning, goal setting
61 Provide support to other team members in both debriefing and assisting in delivery of outputs
61 Display behaviours such as flexibility to the changing needs of the business and communicating clearly and effectively to the various teams involved in initiatives
