职位描述

岗位职责：

For the Engineering Hard goods team responsible for managing the New Product Development (concept through production) Dorel Juvenile is looking for a Design Engineer, who takes care of the mechanical design of our Furniture Nursery products. The Design Engineer will manage product design, design verification, tooling model review, design improve etc., activities through prototyping and engineering pilots to meet product specifications, quality requirements and regulatory standards.

Responsible for:

1. Mechanical design for furniture nursery product interface with US colleague;

2. Manage New Product Development (NPD) process from product concept phase through the initial shipment, ensuring a proper follow up to all NPD activities and to meet shipment schedules on quality and costs.

3. Create 2D & 3D engineering drawings based on design features, functional and safety requirements set by the Division;

4. Create product parts list (BOM) according to the final engineering design and specifications;

5. Coordinate prototype CNC model making and parts submission for approval

6. Manage outside design firms or prototype makers to ensure timely completion of projects and compliancy with design specifications;

7. Provide design supports to the product development team for continuous improvements;

8. Provide technical support to all Dorel Juvenile global markets (regions) and suppliers for new projects and rolling projects;

9. Monitor and report ongoing project schedules, make sure project delivery on quality and on cost during development;

10. Ensure all technical activities required for doing technical tests and getting regulations approval/certificate of the products related for a production start;

11. Review and update the Design Failure Mode & Effects Analysis (DFMEA) report to ensure all potential problems are addressed before mass production;

12. Manage cost changes during the tool start to production within the target;

13. Furthermore the Project Engineer also communicate and coordinate development activities and makes sure all deliveries will be documented.

Profile:

1. A bachelor’s degree or above in Mechanical design or design engineering;

2. At least 5 years of relevant design experience, obtained in a comparable role in design engineering, preferably in the Juvenile and furniture products;

3. Strong mechanical structure design skills, ability to implement product design from concept to manufacturing, with good understanding of manufacturing definition and regulatory standards;

4. Proficient in 3D Solid Works and/or Pro-E software is a MUST;

5. Sound knowledge of wood, plastic injection molding;

6. Ability to estimate product cost and evaluate cost accuracy with 3D engineering files;

7. Highly motivated to work in a technical and automotive environment;

8. Ability to do the DFMEA and tolerance stack analysis (GD&T a plus);

9. Experience in project management, ability to manage multiple projects independently, assure timely deliverables in each critical developmental milestone, and resolve problems during the development process;

10. Sounds knowledge of product regulations or standards such as ASTM, EN, etc.

11. Analytical and detailed oriented;

12.Self-starter and able to work independently;

13. Proficient in spoken and written in English & Mandarin.
