Job Description
To deliver upon Unipart Logistics plans for growth in China. Via a proven track record of successfully securing and delivering new business growth, the Business Development Manager will ensure that Unipart is visible to potential clients, is highly networked and winning new business in the key sectors of Automotive, Aerospace, Technology supply chain. The role will ensure the successful attainment of new business wins that achieve Unipart’s growth and profitability objectives as well as expanding services within contracts that exist.
To develop wide ranging interaction with all levels of the organization and is especially focused on building strong external relationships in China. This will ensure that Unipart is visible and active in the market and that our products and services are positioned and priced in order to best support our strategic plans for growth.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
61Develop and deliver profitable new business
61Ensure that Unipart is visible within the market and that our brand is strengthened through the services that we provide and the clients that we win
61Expand the range of services provided and attendant Unipart profits to new and prospective clients
61Manage relationships and communications with prospective clients, with a strategic focus on growth and service expansion
61Be responsible for Business Development proposals, intelligent tenders, bids & RFQ response
61Plan market research activity ( industry / customer & competitor awareness)
61Industry event participation
61Deliver appropriate social media Business Development activity in line with Group policy
61Promote market awareness of Unipart’s brand, company culture and philosophy
61Ensure that contractual obligations are understood and correctly considered within our bids
61Responsible for CRM system development and set up sales target and performance review process.
61Conduct price negotiation with customers to be able to win the bids.
QUALIFICATIONS, EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
61More than 10 years’ experience in Business Development role
61Proven Business Development capability with consistent new business wins
61Experience in value-added/solution-based sales is a must
61Strong commercial sense and understand the cost structure, capability of negotiation.
61Experience of logistics / supply chain background with understanding of operational processes in a logistics environment.
61Knowledge of the automotive, or Aerospace, or Technology sector
61Good understanding for how warehouses and supply chain operate, their key challenges and objectives
61Ability to present well to various stakeholders
61Chinese and English language fluency
61Ability to work under pressure in a fast paced environment is essential
61Flexible to travel per business requirement and accept challenges and changes
