Dulwich College Suzhou (DCSZ) seeks an inspirational and innovative educator to join Primary School from August

THE SUCCESSFUL CANDIDATE
DCSZ is a well-resourced school with highly motivated and academically successful students. Successful applicants will be enthusiastic about the ethos and values of Dulwich International. An attractive and competitive remuneration package will be offered to the chosen candidate.
The successful candidate must be
· Bachelor or above degree in relevant subject is required
·At least two years experience working in a school library, preferably in a management position
· At least three years post qualification and classroom teacher experience
· PGCE or QTS, Teaching License from non-UK countries are required

Responsibility:

General overview:
61 Develop, support, manage, and promote the DUCKS and Junior School library within The College and community
61 Ensure that an effective resource and information service is provided to students and staff following the best practices of professional librarianship
61 Develop information skills curricula for the year groups across DUCKS and Junior School to support student learning
61 Link with Class Teachers at the stage of planning to ensure that library time enhances the curriculum in an effective way
61 Provide staff development opportunities in the realm of information and research skills as required
The duties of a Teaching Librarian at Dulwich College Suzhou are as follows:
61 Ensure that safeguarding, health and safety, and all other College policies are known, understood and embedded into practice
61 Encourage reading and the enjoyment of literature for all students
61 Contribute to curriculum development through liaising with individual teachers and year groups
61 Deliver exciting lessons to pupils of all ages, fully supporting their curriculum, developing their inquiry skills and understanding of how to use the library
61 Plan and oversee the facility, management, and organisation of the libraries’ physical spaces
61 Develop and maintain the library collection to support the curriculum
61 Provide a safe and comfortable environment for students from DUCKS through to Junior School
61 Organise, catalogue, and secure resources to ensure effective retrieval of material
61 Promote information skills integration and sharing of resources
61 Develop the Maker Space in the library area and ensure that it has clear purpose and identity
61 Prepare and manage the budget for the DUCKS and JS library in collaboration with the Leadership Team
61 Train, supervise, and evaluate staff and parent volunteers; supervise students helpers
61 Coordinate and collaborate with Dulwich Librarians at other locations
61 Support and promote all College policies
61 Liaise with procurement / stores with specific regard to text book storage and distribution
61 Any other duties as may be required from time to time by the Head of College or College Leadership Team
