Development Engineer Technology & Process Development BA OESL :
Lead projects for the development of new product technologies and processes to ensure selective technology leadership of OESL in the respective technical area.
- Manage the internal interface within defined R&D process to peer R&D departments to ensure internal and external process and quality requirements.
- Manage an efficient cooperation with as well as use and support of the R&D departments Testing & Laboratory, Virtual Validation and Processes & Regulations (push and pull).
- Drive Concept evaluation, DVP, D-FMEA, tolerance stack-up, risk analyses etc.
- Ensure timeline and PREQ requirements.
- Develop solutions that meet customer requirements at lowest possible component- and process-effort (costs).
- Documention and presentation of solutions with highest standards to different stakeholders (DGL, MGL, reports, presentations in virtual and F2F situations)
- Review developments internal and external with respect to technical content and intellectual property
- Follow market trends, exhibtions, fairs to technical development
- Drive conceptional ideas to patents and or unique selling points
- Evaluate market-acompaignons technical solutions in back-to-back analysis and IP for infringements or freedom to use/operate definitions
- Understand and translate the needs of AE, PPD, CAD, Testing, MPD, PPI, VV (all segments and locations) and customer requirements to potential TECPD solutions67.
- Collect information about state of the art technologies as well as future technologies (contact to universities, attending of conferences, literature, social media, etc.).
- Ensure a robust network within the responsible functional area across all technical departments within R&D and all segment with a transparent, effective and efficient knowledge transfer and communication.
- Ensure a robust network between R&D and all other stakeholders (e.g. Continental central function, Continental other BA's, institutes, universities, suppliers) in the responsible functional area.
- Organize and moderate workshops and focus on execution of defined actions in specific functional area.
- Actively promote, support and drive the concept of OESL TECHnets in the respective area by taking an active part and bringing in own expert knowledge as a member or organizer/co-lead.
- Constant progression of our specifications in design and manufacturing to improve the product-usage for our application engineers to internal and external customers.
- Update specifications, drawings, guidelines, lessons learned to constantly have latest informtion in offcial status per definition, e.g. FIDES.
- Drive developments to clear targets, e.g. gate 60/80 so that serial projects can be quoted.
- Inform transparently and based on engineering data on potential technical issues that can effect the function of a development / component.
- Support the activities in the TECPD team based on own capacity (in alignment with team head)

- Supporting the development activities have to be published in the corresponding overview lists to make visible/transparent the activities, status, e.g.
- Support or even lead Task Force Activities with management and specialist know how
- Act and compel colleagues to behave as ambassadors for Quality and Safety
- Understand the importance of technical compliance and ensure the adherence thereof in daily business
- Be dedicated to maximizing internal & external customer satisfaction by demonstrating ownership, dedication towards ensuring high-quality results and process-orientation
- Owning the quality of all outputs in the dedicated responsibility area as process member or process owner
- Strive for “Zero Incidents” and “Zero Accidents” by demonstrating ownership and acting as a role model for a safe envirnoment
- Act and inspire colleagues to challenge the status quo in order to create sustainable solutions
- Innovate and/or create solutions to support our corporate sustanability strategy
- Respect defined standards and targets for sustainability
Qualifications
- Master/Diploma/Bachelors degree in mechanical or industrial engineering, automotive engineering, chemistry or materials science
- Min. 3 years experience on job in the area of process engineering/process or product development in the related technical field
- Experience in automotive industry
- Experience in development project work and application of according tools
- Experience in arrangement and documentation of target driven meetings
