A Videographer/Photographer is responsible for capturing, editing, and producing high-quality video and photo content that reflects the school’s image and values. He/She works closely with the Marketing and Admissions team to create engaging visual storytelling for internal and external audiences across platforms such as school events, promotional campaigns, online channels, and social media. The role also contributes to the planning and creative direction of visual projects.
REPORTS TO:
Marketing Manager (or School Admin)
RESPONSIBILITIES
Filming and editing video content for school events, promotional materials, website, and social media.
Capturing high-quality photographs of school life, including events, classroom activities, staff portraits, and promotional campaigns.
Editing and retouching photos to ensure professional quality and consistency with school branding.
Developing creative concepts and storyboards in collaboration with the Marketing/Admissions team.
Ensuring all visual content (video and photography) aligns with the school’s branding and communication guidelines.
Managing video/photo archives, raw footage, and digital assets for easy access and reuse.
Setting up and operating cameras, lighting, and audio equipment during shoots.
Editing videos with appropriate music, graphics, voice-overs, and subtitles to enhance storytelling.
Meeting all production deadlines set by the Marketing Manager (or School Admin).
Coordinating with teachers, students, and departments to capture classroom and extracurricular activities.
Staying updated with new video and photography technologies and trends to improve school media output.
QUALIFICATIONS
Bachelor’s degree in Film, Media, Communications, Photography, or a related field preferred.
Proven experience as a videographer, video editor, and photographer (portfolio required).
Proficiency with video editing software (e.g., Adobe Premiere Pro, Final Cut Pro, After Effects) and photo editing software (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Lightroom).
Strong technical skills with cameras, lighting, and audio equipment.
Creative eye for visual storytelling, photography composition, and attention to detail.
Ability to work independently and collaboratively under tight deadlines.
Strong organizational and time management skills.
Familiarity with social media platforms and optimizing visual content for different audiences.
Excellent communication skills in English (Chinese language skills a plus).
