Labsphere is looking for a creative mechanical design engineer who is proficient in SolidWorks to join our engineering team. We are interested in talking to candidates with a variety of skill levels and experience.
Essential Job Functions
As a collaborative Mechanical Engineer, you will:
61 Design opto-mechanical and electro-mechanical systems using solid modeling software. Follow product specifications and other written and verbal instructions from engineers and customers.
61 Prepare complete part and assembly models, drawings, and bills of materials. Effectively document designs so that manufacturing personnel can produce products with little or no supervision from engineering.
61 Lead the effort to improve configuration management from prototype to production

Experience
61 Associates degree in mechanical design or related field required.
61 Strong interpersonal skills and professional demeanor to deal with internal and external contacts.
61 Excellent written and oral communication skills.
61 Strong organizational and time management skills. Ability to work effectively in a multitask environment under deadlines according to project schedules.
61 Must work independently and show initiative.
61 Proven ability to meet challenges that lie beyond the current position description and learn to solve problems creatively.
61 Proficiency in a variety of computer software including the use of solid-model design software, ERP systems, spreadsheets, databases, graphs and word processing.
61 Ability to apply arithmetic, algebra, geometry, calculus, and statistics; compile, code, categorize, calculate, tabulate, audit, and verify information and data.
Additional Skills Required
61 Excellent language skills (English).
61 2-5 years’ experience with SolidWorks 2019 or newer.
61 Proved mechanical design experience.
61 Experience working with trans-national teams (China and United States).
61 Proven ability to travel to the United States (active or previous visa documentation)
