JOB FUNCTION:
Leverage technical expertise to drive the development of innovative products. Utilize engineering skills to diagnose and resolve product defects at both system and manufacturing levels, ensuring high-quality production standards. Manage projects effectively, aligning tasks with project goals and objectives to achieve successful outcomes.
ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS:
61 Able to use project management skills to lead new product launches in manufacturing.
61 Communicate daily with multiple individuals in English and Chinese in different time zones in the world.
61 Accurately plan, schedule, document, coordinate personnel and resources necessary to complete project tasks/sub projects.
61 Able to assess risks on new products using the Design Failure Effect and Mode Analysis (DFMEA) process.
61 Perform tasks required to support production, quality, and new product/process development.
61 Conduct manufacturing and product/process qualifications and validations.
61 Maintain accurate and detailed documentation of activities performed.
61 Provide training to necessary personnel on related topics and ideas.
61 Support on-going project planning and budgeting activities.
61 Be an active participant/contributor on work teams.
61 Performs other duties as assigned by Supervisor.
RELATIONSHIPS AND CONTACTS
Extensive contact with Engineering, Manufacturing, Management, and extensive contact with Third Party Contract Manufactures.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s degree in engineering from four-year college or university or equivalent combination of education, training and/or experience. Four years previous engineering experience required of project management or product development in addition to formal education. 3-5 years’ experience in wood furniture.
SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE
61 Ability to effectively lead multiple projects in multiple locations
61 Ability to effectively lead, interact, make decisions and problem solve
61 Assume responsibility for work outcomes and results of vendors
61 Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
61 Ability to effectively communicate and interact with various internal and external contacts to include effectively presenting information to top management.
61 Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems.
61 Ability to effectively communicate in English and Chinese, written and oral.
61 Efficient organization skills
61 Self-starter with proven experience in good customer skills
61 Excellent computer skills. Windows, MS Office a must.
61 Basic CAD experience a plus.
WORK LOCATION AND TRAVEL
61 Multiple time a week visits to factories in Wuxi, Changzhou, and Changjiang Zhen
61 Random visits to Hangzhou
61 Possible travel to other Asian countries to include but not limited to Philippines, Malaysia, Vietnam, Japan, and India.
