Purpose of the position
1. To identify, pursue and gain new business opportunities within the Metal
fabrication (Arc welding, Laser, Heat treatment segments), and lead “gas
application solution sales”.
2. Management of the Manufacturing industry team and sustain business growth.
3. To provide Application Technology (AT), support to area sales to assist
winning new business, and increase/improve revenue and profitability.
4. Cultivate market perception of Linde as the most technically competent
industrial gas supplier to the segments.
Principal responsibilities
Project development:
1. Identifies project opportunities based upon a detailed knowledge of
customer processes and the relevance of available products and technical
solutions in line with market strategy.
2. Develop process designs for customised, technical solutions and terms for
process guarantees.
3. Implement defined development projects through to ready-for-market status
(in co-operation with partners).
4. Maintain communications & network with external industrial bodies and
universities.
Customer support:
1. Work with customers & in support of the sales teams throughout RGC in the
focus area.
2. Provides application technology know how & support to the area sales team.
3. Support the key customer sales and area sales teams with expert technical
knowledge to develop and grow new technically driven business; protect the
existing customer base within the sector.
Knowledge transfer:
1. Communicates internally and externally via suitable media.
2. Trains and coaches area sales team of AT know how
Industry insight:
1. Provides insights about market developments and trends of the industry
segments.
2. Supports feasibility studies of new products / process ideas.
3. Drive new emerging sub-segment development.
4. Profitability monitoring
Required qualifications/experience:
1. Bachelor or above degree in Heat treatment discipline
2. Typically, 10+ years industrial (or application development or technical
sales) experience
3. Proven track record in technology support and development
4. Recognized as a competent specialist within the industry.
5. A reasonable level of written and spoken English.
