PURPOSEThe Software Test Manager plays a critical role in ensuring that medical device software products meet the highest quality, safety, and global regulatory compliance standards (e.g., FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, IEC
62304). By establishing and driving comprehensive verification and validation (V&V) frameworks, this position ensures product safety and efficacy. It also safeguards the company’s ability to meet stringent regulatory requirements, enabling product approval, maintaining market access, and enhancing customer trust.PRINCIPAL ACCOUNTABILITIESOutlined below are the key responsibilities of this role, in order of significance:
1. Test Planning and Strategy Developmento Create and oversee detailed test plans and strategies encompassing functional, regression, performance, and usability testing.o Optimize the allocation of testing resources to meet project requirements, ensuring on-time delivery of testing activities.
2. Test Execution and Defect Managemento Supervise end-to-end test execution activities to verify the accuracy and completeness of test cases.o Ensure effective defect tracking and resolution management by collaborating closely with development teams to resolve issues promptly.
3. Test Automation Implementationo Develop and maintain automated test scripts to enhance the efficiency, repeatability, and scope of testing activities.o Advocate for and implement modern testing automation tools and technologies that align with evolving technological considerations.
4. Team Leadership and Mentorshipo Lead and manage the testing team, including recruitment, training, performance evaluation, and personal development.o Provide mentorship to less experienced team members to foster technical growth and elevate team performance overall.
5. Communication and Reportingo Establish close communication with cross-functional teams, regularly reporting on test progress, defect trends, and overall product quality.o Provide actionable data from test results to support informed decision-making for project goals and product readiness.
6. Risk Management in Testing Processeso Identify potential risks during testing phases and proactively create mitigation plans, ensuring risks do not impact project timelines or outcomes.o Apply risk-based testing strategies to focus on areas critical to product safety and compliance.
7. Process Optimization and Continuous Improvemento Evaluate and refine testing processes to ensure higher quality, faster cycles, and adaptability to new challenges and trends.o Monitor advancements in testing strategies, tools, and industry best practices, integrating these improvements into the testing framework.JOB REQUIREMENTSEducation:· A Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Engineering, or a related field is required.Experience:· Minimum 5-7 years of software testing experience, with at least 3 years in a managerial or team leadership capacity.· Experience in managing large-scale testing projects, especially in regulated industries like healthcare or medical devices, is preferred.Technical Skills:· Proficiency in manual and automated testing methodologies and tools.· Strong expertise in test planning, execution, and tracking within software development life cycle (SDLC) and testing life cycle (STLC) contexts.· Familiarity with widely-used testing tools such as Selenium, JIRA, Appium, TestRail, or equivalent.· Knowledge of test automation frameworks, performance testing tools (e.g., LoadRunner, JMeter), and defect management workflows.Certifications:· Holding a certification such as ISTQB, CSTE, or other software testing credentials is a strong advantage.Other Skills:· Exceptional communication skills in English, both written and verbal, for working with technical and non-technical stakeholders.· Proven capability in team leadership, employee mentoring, and fostering a collaborative working environment.· Strong problem-solving and analytical skills to manage complex testing challenges effectively.· Adaptability to fast-paced environments, with the ability to modify strategies and plans as priorities shift.职位目的软件测试经理在确保医疗器械软件产品符合最高质量、安全以及全球法规合规标准(例如,美国食品药品监督管理局《联邦法规》第 21 篇第 820 部分、ISO
