Development Leader CV ePwT will be responsible for launching new product design and new applications for Commercial Vehicle Electrical Powertrain Integration at the customer, developing top down functional requirement and design, simulate and qualify full product to meet customer needs. Will have also End to End responsibility for flawless launch, with performance/ cost/ reliability/ APQP and timing by direct management of a dedicated team of engineers, designers and technicians. As Lead Engineer, she/he is also representing Garrett in front of the customer, responsible for the GBE technology. She/he leads activities from early customer engagement up to bid submission and product launch
Responsibilities:
End to End Design Product Ownership, meeting all ePwT functional requirements (Performance, Reliability, Quality, Costs & Timing) to meet cutomer specifications
Sizing, Design, Simulation, supporting and evaluation of Validation (DVP&R), ePwT Release
Accountable for Internal & External APQP on full Bill Of Material, component PPAP deviations (APQP output)
Assess, anticipate and mitigate risks (technical, manufacturing), escalate when required
Lead & Prioritize project team work to meet project objectives - Prototypes, ODT, PPAP and SOP on time and cost target
For complex projects will lead 6-8 product engineers and pull in resources from ECOE
Accountable for overall concept work planning & on time delivery in support of Program Management Milestones.
Define requirements for 2D & 3D and cooperates with Design Leader. Ensure proper application & use of standard development and simulation processes & tools, as defined by functional matrix
Lead cross-functional CI activities including new process ownership & tools deployment, in pursuit of increased flexible & agile multi-skilled engineers inside the team
Leads activities from early customer engagement up to bid submission and product launch.
Develop joint technology roadmap with customers and game plan to win targeted programs in partnership with commercial teams and the GBE.
Support the hiring process, hiring decision, on-boarding, and UCP process for Development Engineers
Support Design quality issue investigations (8D’s) and lead implementation of corrective actions
Lead team member performance, evaluations, recognition, and support talent development in coordination with functional matrix
Requirements:
Master Degree or above in mechanical design, automotive or mechatronic engineering background
Min 10 years of relevant automotive experience
Experiences with electrical powertrain units
Experience with commercial vehicles
Experience in customer facing
Engineering leader with demonstrated experience in direct customer interface
Prior product validation and launch experience, product development and component design
Fluency in English
