Job Description Summary
Applies multiple engineering disciplines to plan, organize and conduct technical projects within design, fabrication, modification and evaluation of new or enhanced hardware products or systems. Projects may involve exploration of products and/or process problems, definition and selection of new concepts and approaches, origination or modification of material, component and process specifications and requirements. Jobs that provide engineering technical support in this field should be assigned to this job family.
Job Description
1. Collaboration and Sourcing:
Establish partnerships with research entities and technology companies in China.
Source, select, and develop open innovation partnerships.
Engage with Principal Investigators to explore innovative solutions.
Support building collaboration partnerships and contracts.
2. Technology Development:
Lead hardware development in various technological domains.
Integrate software and AI technologies into research instruments.
Define technology roadmaps for concept proof and commercialization.
Focus on instruments hardware and software integration, including Liquid Chromatography, Mass Spectrometry, Plate Reader, PCR, Clone Picker, Incubator, Raman, Microfluidic technology, Solid-phase microextraction, EasyPrep for Protein sample preparation, Wide-field fluorescence scanning, and the like.
3. Project Management:
Manage multiple projects ensuring timely delivery.
Coordinate with cross-functional teams.
Translate user needs into design specifications.
Use Danaher innovation engine tools, e.g., Strategic Partnership Growth (SPG), Advanced Product Development (APD), Speed Design Review (SDR)/Virtual Project Management (VPM), Rationalize Road Map (RRM), IP Strategy Process, IP Intelligence and Mapping.
4. Research and Innovation:
Stay updated with the latest advancements in relevant research fields.
Contribute to the ideation of new technologies.
5. Technical Leadership:
Provide mentorship to junior engineers and team members.
Ensure best practices and industry standards in development activities.
6. Intellectual Property Management:
Assess and research IP landscape for freedom to operate.
Manage the development and filing of new patents.
Qualifications and skills
Ph.D. or Master’s degree in Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, Physics, Computer Science, or related field.
8-10 years of experience in advanced instrumentation and systems development.
Proven track record of successful collaborations with research entities.
Expertise in electronics, optics, detectors, process control, software, and AI technologies.
Excellent problem-solving and communication skills in Chinese and English.
