Sourcing & Operations Director (French Speaking)

About the Role

An exciting leadership opportunity for a seasoned Sourcing & Operations Director to join the sourcing office of a rapidly expanding European retail group in Ningbo, China. This position will oversee and drive sourcing, supply chain, and operational excellence across Asia, while leading a sizeable team of merchandisers, sourcing professionals, and support functions.

Key Responsibilities

As the Sourcing & Operations Director, you will play a pivotal role in shaping and executing the sourcing and operational strategy for the hardgoods category. You will report to the regional management based in Hong Kong and serve as a strategic partner across the supply chain.

61 Lead and manage end-to-end operations, including sourcing, order follow-up, Quality and Packaging, ensuring seamless coordination across departments.

61 Develop and execute sourcing strategies aligned with the group’s long-term goals, focusing on cost competitiveness, supplier performance, and risk mitigation.

61 Optimize and manage vendor relationships, including negotiation, performance monitoring, and maintaining a healthy supplier portfolio.

61 Drive continuous improvement in operational processes and KPIs to enhance efficiency, speed to market, and quality.

61 Coach, mentor, and develop your team, fostering a collaborative and high-performance culture.

61 Serve as the Hub Lead for the Ningbo office, representing the company’s values and ensuring alignment with group-wide objectives.

Job Requirement :

61 Bachelor’s degree or higher in Business, Supply Chain, or a relevant discipline.

61 15+ years of experience in sourcing, supply chain, or trading, preferably in the hard goods or consumer goods category.

61 Proven leadership experience managing mid-to-large teams in an international environment.

61 Fluent in English and French is a Must; Mandarin is an advantage.

61 Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with an agile, hands-on, and solutions-oriented mindset.

61 Demonstrated ability to manage complexity, multitask, and lead in a fast-paced environment.
