Position Summary:
The E-Powertrain Application Engineer will support customer-related activities and support the development of Garrett's Electric Drive Unit product portfolio.
The ideal candidate will have significant experience in electric drive testing at both the component and vehicle levels.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Accountable for customer hardware commissioning either it is for test bench or vehicle
2. Collecting customer requirements before and during commissioning to achieve expected results
3. Supporting troubleshoot phase in front of customer and contribute to achieve seamless communication with customer
4. Converting customer needs and feedback into action plans than you will support for successful execution
5. Owning calibration content and version, ensuring most appropriate version is in the hardware at any time
Other Responsibilities:
1. Supporting development of state-of-the-art calibration methodologies and processes
2. Contributing to set up appropriate processes to ensure state of the art calibration traceability and compliance with all required standards
3. Collaborating closely with simulation team to leverage Digital Twin to enhance team capabilities and operations
4. Supporting simulation team with field knowledge and test data processing
5. Contributing to establish best practices and processes to ensure consistency across activities in a cross functional manner
6. Continuously improving and updating standards and methodologies to improve both quality and productivity
Qualifications Required:
1. Master’s degree in mechanical or electrical engineering or higher with specialization and/or working experience in Electric Powertrain testing
2. At least 2 years of hands of experience in the area Automotive Powertrain system simulation development of Hybrid Electric Vehicles (xEV) and/or Battery Electric Vehicles (BEV) and/or Fuel Cell Electric Vehicle (FCEV)
3. Direct experience with tools like INCA, CANape, Concerto, Matlab Simulink, CRETA, CAMEO or equivalent
4. Good understanding of powertrain architecture, sub systems, key functionalities, high level control, thermal management
5. Good understanding on the industry challenges on Battery Electric
6. Vehicle in general and of Electric Drive Units in particular
7. Good summarizing skills on project findings and reporting out to leadership
8. Good interpersonal skills and Multitasking capabilities
9. Good knowledge of Matlab and Python scripting languages
10. Team player, problem solving skills
11. Knowledge of 0/1-D Multiphysics simulation tools such as GT-SUITE, WAVE, BOOST, AMESIM, or equivalent is a plus
12. English is working language
