JOB SUMMARY
The Marcom Packaging Print Development Manager assists Marcom Packaging Producers, R&D team and in region print specialists on press check, manage packaging and labeling for all products to ensure that high-quality printing and finishing is developed, produced, and shipped on time.
Actively participate in suppliers pre-press, proofing and printing audits, qualification and action plan for improvements.
Establish press check color standard for all products and communicate expectations to cross functional teams.
KEY QUALIFICATIONS
1 5–7 years relevant experience in consumer electronic or consumer goods packaging and labeling, including project management experience.
2 Good sense and understanding of high-end print quality requirement and attention to details. Hands-on press check color approval experience.
3 Knowledge of pre-press, in-depth printing processes, and solving on-press issues. Requires knowledge of inks, adhesives, and print decoration and finishing techniques.
4 Ability to appreciate small color variations and give directions to printers on the spot.
5 Knowledge of color management and color theory required. Must pass Munsell test with score of less than
5.
6 Able to guide/instruct supplier with knowledge of pre-press, printing process and print standard in order to identify cause & effect.
7 Strong attention to details, ability to manage multiple projects at once and keep track of milestones and deliverables. Good tasks management.
8 Ability to prioritize and work on multiple highly detailed projects at the same time.
9 Creative problem-solving skills. Adaptable, flexible and resourceful to manage changes in product definition, time constraints, etc.
10 Proficient in Adobe Creative Cloud: Illustrator, Photoshop, InDesign, Adobe Acrobat.
11 Proficient in Mac OS and native apps.
12 Understand English in written and reading. Excellent English speaking skill to communicate to the team.
13 Positive, attentive, focused, and engaged. Strong work ethic. Accountable for actions. Takes initiative. Collaborative “team-player.”
14 Trustworthy in a confidential environment. Supportive of company values.
15 Position is based in Shenzhen/Shanghai, China. Travel domestic China and potential international travel (up to 35% of time).
WORK SCOPE DESCRIPTION
1. Assist R&D project roll out
- Work with R&D Print Specialist to support R&D projects trial run and roll out to supply chain.
- Supply test report and effectively explain test results.
2. Manages print deliverables and ensure print quality meets our expectations
Support category producer in corresponding category. Attend press approval.
- Support sustaining programs press check activities both domestic and international.
- Manage press approval print quality meets our standards. Provide professional color judgement to match design goals across multiple supplier sites.
- Troubleshoot on-site print issues. Signs off on color standard and establish acceptable printing target.
3. Assist and monitor supplier capabilities in developed maintenance programs
- Participates in developed maintenance programs as it relates to pre-press, ink mixing, printing and finishing capabilities and ensure suppliers corrective actions are in place.
- Conduct and generate established reports for established standardization test, such as Press Characterization within supply chain. Following instructions from Packaging SQE team.
- Assist in developed standard procedures for effective implementation.
