Headquartered in Ohio, Libbey Inc. is a leading designer, producer, and marketer of glass tableware globally, holding a strong leadership position in North America. Through its subsidiaries, Syracuse China and World Tableware, it is also a major supplier of ceramic dinnerware and metal flatware to the foodservice industry. Today, Libbey products are distributed in more than 90 countries.
In recent years, the company has made significant international acquisitions: Royal Leerdam—one of the largest global producers of glass stemware based in Amsterdam—and Crisal—a Portuguese manufacturer of glass tableware that has expanded the company’s presence in Europe. Libbey is also negotiating a venture in Mexico with Vitrocrisa.
The company plans to invest heavily in the Chinese and Asia-Pacific markets in the near future, where it sees strong growth potential as a commercial market and sourcing base. Currently, Libbey is constructing a new state-of-the-art glass tableware manufacturing facility in China.
