BP YPC Acetyls Company (Nanjing) Ltd. (BYACO), a 50:50 joint venture between YPC and BPCIL (a global Fortune 500 company), operates a 500Kt/yr world-scale Acetic Acid plant. The company utilizes BP's leading CATIVA technology, known for its low energy consumption and low emissions. Utilities and logistics benefit greatly from YPC's existing facilities, making the joint venture highly competitive and cost-effective. BYACO began commercial operations at the end of 2010. In 2021, due to the change in the foreign shareholder to INEOS Group, the company was renamed INEOS YPC Acetyls Company (Nanjing) Ltd. (short for IYC).
