Established in 1989, IEE is a foreign-owned enterprise primarily focused on automotive sensing systems. It expanded its footprint in China, commencing production at IEE (Langfang) Electronic Engineering Co., Ltd. in the Langfang Economic and Technological Development Zone in August 2006. A technical and sales center was established in Tower Lotus, Wangjing, Beijing in summer 2007, followed by a second Langfang production facility in summer 2008 as the company's scale grew. Currently, IEE's Beijing office is situated in Chaoyang District, Lai'aitou High-tech Industrial Park.

IEE has a global reach, partnering with renowned automotive manufacturers such as BMW, Ford, and Toyota.
