In 1995, Frequentis ventured into the Chinese Air Traffic Management (ATM) market, installing its initial VCS 3020 system at China's principal airport. This pioneering move laid the groundwork for a ten-year alliance with the Chinese Air Traffic Management Bureau (ATMB). Since that inception, Frequentis has supplied over 1,000 operator positions to airports and ATM control centers across the nation, ensuring that virtually every flight in China, at some point in its journey, navigates through a Frequentis communication system.
However, the swift expansion of China's aviation industry and the ensuing operational complexities necessitated a distinct technical and logistical support approach compared to other regions. This was a key driver for Frequentis to establish a subsidiary in China, Frequentis (Shanghai) Co., Ltd.
Presently, Frequentis Shanghai offers a comprehensive suite of Frequentis ATM services within the country, encompassing marketing and sales, technical assistance and design, project management and execution, as well as the full array of post-sales service operations.
