Beijing Aero Engine Services Co., Ltd. (BAESL), a joint venture established in 2022 between Rolls-Royce and Air China with each holding 50%, will progressively offer MRO services for Rolls-Royce Trent 700, Trent XWB-84, and Trent 1000 engines. By the mid-2030s, BAESL aims to reach full operational capacity, servicing up to 250 Trent series engines annually. The facility will serve Air China and other airlines across Greater China and beyond.

As Rolls-Royce’s first Trent series joint venture in mainland China and its fourth globally within their maintenance network, BAESL represents a significant advancement in Air China and Rolls-Royce’s collaboration in civil engine aftermarket maintenance. This initiative will enhance Air China’s maintenance portfolio, expand engine overhaul capabilities, reduce risks associated with high-thrust engine operations, elevate fleet operational standards, and ensure enhanced flight safety. Additionally, it will enable Air China’s maintenance arm and engine OEMs to deliver higher-quality, regionally advantageous repair services to customers.
