Hyder Consulting is a multi-national design and engineering consultancy. Established over 150 years ago, we have worked on some of the world's most iconic buildings and structures, including the Burj Khalifa in Dubai, the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Tower Bridge in London, and the *** High Speed Railway.

Our expertise spans four main sectors:

With a rich history dating back more than 150 years, we have been involved in some of the world's most ambitious infrastructure projects, such as the Sydney Harbour Bridge, Burj Khalifa, London’s Tower Bridge, Berlin Hauptbahnof, and all three Victoria Harbour crossings in Hong Kong. Our goal is to leverage our engineering heritage to deliver significant projects that benefit future generations. In 2007, Hyder Consulting Group received the prestigious "International Consultant of the Year" award from the Association of Consulting Engineers and *New Civil Engineer* magazine in the UK.

In 2009, we were awarded the "Burj Khalifa – Innovation Award, British Expertise International Award 2009."

Our focus is on providing effective and innovative solutions. The tallest, longest, or deepest option isn't always the most cost-effective or practical approach. Our comprehensive service offerings allow us to address projects of all sizes, identify and deliver value, and help clients achieve their goals.

Hyder Consulting was listed on the London Stock Exchange in October 2002. We are building a 21st-century consulting business rooted in over a century of engineering excellence.

During the 19th and 20th centuries, Freeman Fox and Partners and John Taylor & Sons established international reputations in bridge and highway design and water and wastewater systems, respectively. Together, they designed projects such as the Victoria Falls Bridge, Sydney Harbour Bridge, Humber Bridge, Severn Bridge, Shanghai water supply project, and major water and sewerage projects in Leningrad (now St Petersburg) and Tehran. These firms merged in 1988 to form Acer Consultants. Over time, the expertise of numerous specialist firms was integrated to create a major global infrastructure consultancy.

The company was acquired by Welsh Water in 1993 and rebranded as Hyder Consulting in 1996. In the following years, Hyder Consulting led Hyder plc's transition into offering total infrastructure solutions, including advice, financing, design, and operations.
