Shanghai AB Food & Beverages Limited
ABF started to invest in China in 2002 by acquiring and creating Shanghai AB Food & Beverages Ltd. The previous company was a Sino-foreign joint venture between Consumer Health Corporation of Novartis Switzerland and Shanghai Maling Aquarius Group, founded in 1993. At the end of 2002, Associated British Foods plc acquired the shares and brands of the Consumer Health Corporation of Novartis Switzerland. In December 2008, Shanghai AB Food & Beverages Ltd became the sole-funded company under the ABF Group with an investment exceeding $30 million. The company, with more than 200 employees, produces and sells nutrition foods for children, such as Ovaltine, nutrition beverages for middle-aged and elderly people, such as "Fu Pai" Lacovo, and "Fu Pai" Malted Milk and malt extract for both domestic and international industrial markets. Main production facilities include modern automatic production plants for malt extract with product lines and band dryers imported from Switzerland and Germany.

ABF Twinings Beverages (Shanghai) Ltd
In 2005, ABF strengthened its business investment in China by establishing the wholly-owned "ABF Twinings Beverage (Shanghai) Ltd," located in the Jinqiao Processing Zone, Pudong, and belonging to the tea division. The main activities involve blending green teas and packing Twinings tea bags, with all final products exported overseas. By 2010, the factory will house state-of-the-art packing machines and over 200 staff members.

Twinings, founded in 1706, was one of the first companies to introduce tea drinking to the British and has been honored with a Royal Warrant by Queen Victoria to this day. Now, customers in more than 100 countries enjoy Twinings products, which include not only traditional black and green teas but also flavored black tea and herbal infusions. All of these delight the taste buds of new generations of consumers. Since 2006, Twinings has launched in China and brings Chinese consumers a British enjoyment!
