On October 31, 2005, Pfizer publicly announced the inauguration of its China Research and Development Center (CRDC) in Shanghai. This division of Pfizer's Global Research and Development is primarily involved in pharmaceutical research and development initiatives. A significant portion of the CRDC's resources is allocated to the conceptualization and execution of global phase I-IV clinical trials, alongside the procedural aspects of compiling clinical trial reports. Moreover, the CRDC serves as an integral component of Pfizer's global Safety and Risk Management system, encompassing duties related to the processing and evaluation of safety data. It also offers training to Pfizer personnel across China and the broader Asia region in adherence to internationally recognized standards for Good Clinical Practice.
