Gestamp Automocion is a global leader in automotive component solutions, headquartered in Spain with over 25,000 employees worldwide. The company operates across 24 countries in Europe, America, and Asia, featuring 95 production centers and 13 automation engineering R&D centers. It has 49 factories in Western Europe, 9 factories in Brazil and Argentina, 8 factories in North America, 15 factories in Eastern Europe, and 14 factories in Asia. Gestamp's Asia-Pacific headquarters is located in Shanghai, overseeing five plants in Kunshan, Dongguan, Shenyang, Wuhan, and Chongqing.

The China R&D center commenced operations in 2010. The goal is not to serve as a European support team but to establish an independent and capable team with complete R&D functions in China. All employees in the China R&D center have undergone long-term training in Europe and the UK to fully understand the products and design knowledge. So far, the China R&D team has supported or led numerous projects, such as the Volvo SPA chassis platform and BMW G05 link.

To provide clients with better technical support and meet their needs, Gestamp decided to build a new R&D center in the Shanghai International Automobile City to strengthen local testing and prototyping capabilities. Established by the end of 2016, the new R&D center offers comprehensive R&D functions including product development, conceptual design, material research, testing, prototyping, etc., aiming to provide more professional, efficient, and cost-effective services to clients.

The Shanghai R&D center was established in 2010. The aim is not to support European R&D but to cultivate an independent and capable R&D team in China and gradually improve the R&D function. All employees at the China R&D center have undergone long-term training in the UK and Germany, mastering products and development processes. To date, the China R&D team has supported or led several projects, including the Volvo SPA chassis platform and the BMW G05 spring bracket.

To better support clients with new product development, Gestamp Group built a new engineering R&D center in the Shanghai International Automobile City to enhance local testing and prototype capabilities. Completed by the end of 2016, the new R&D center provides comprehensive product development functions: new product development, conceptual design, material research, testing, prototyping, etc. Our goal is to provide clients with more professional, efficient, and economical solutions.
