Established on the foundation of outstanding innovation, Intelec's journey began when its founder, J.M. Lapeyre, invented a shrimp peeling machine in 1949, revolutionizing the shrimp processing industry. A visionary inventor aiming to streamline processes, J.M. was granted patents for the shrimp peeling machine and a total of 190 other inventions throughout his lifetime. He also founded four companies, each grounded in unique innovations he created. Among these, Intelec was registered in 1970 for its first patent related to molded conveyor belts.
Over the past four decades, through diligent practice, skilled personnel, and a relentless pursuit of excellence, Intelec has evolved from a small conveyor belt manufacturer in Louisiana into a global provider of conveyor solutions. Intelec conveyor belts are composed of plastic modules that interlock or interlock in a brick pattern and are assembled using long pins, which significantly enhances the strength of the conveyor belts. This technology was invented by Intelec in 1971, giving it unparalleled experience in designing and applying molded conveyor belts compared to any other company in the market.
The molded conveyor belts invented by Intelec have brought about transformative changes in the transportation of food and industrial products. These belts, comprised of plastic modules and hinge pins, are driven and guided by plastic sprockets, offering inherent qualities that meet the demands of factory operators and designers: corrosion resistance, forced drive, high strength, low friction, wear resistance, and the ability to be customized into virtually any width and length, with options for various side panels, guards, and additional attachments.
