In December 1996, Kone Elevators Co., Ltd. was established in Kunshan, China, and is the main elevator and escalator manufacturing base of Kone Group in the Asia-Pacific region. In 2013, the new Kone Park and R&D Center covering an area of 240,000 square meters was officially opened in Kunshan, which is the largest production and R&D base of Kone worldwide with the strongest R&D capabilities. The products manufactured by Kone not only meet domestic demand but are also exported to more than 90 countries and regions, including Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Middle East.

By the end of 2014, Kone China had nearly 10,300 employees, 50 branches, 368 service stations, and 60 sales offices nationwide.

In 2013, Kone celebrated the official opening of the new Kone Park and R&D Center in Kunshan. It is the largest production and R&D base of Kone in the world, covering an area of 240,000 square meters. Kone China not only meets its domestic demand but also exports products to more than 90 countries and areas such as Thailand, Malaysia, Singapore, and the Middle East.
