Our History
In 1974, Eli Chitayat founded Genimex in *** as a traditional sourcing company. Facing a changing Asia, Eli grew his business through hard work, persistence, and transparency, building trust with both clients and suppliers.
Eli’s three sons grew up in the family business, working summers in the office, inspecting factories, faxing and mailing product offers, and attending trade shows. When Eli retired in 2001, his son David took over as CEO. David and his brother Jonathan continued their father’s tradition of adapting to the times to address the challenges faced by Genimex clients in a rapidly evolving market.
Since our traditional sourcing beginnings in the 1970s, five decades of history and passion have allowed us to build long-term relationships with manufacturers, established brands, and multinational retailers. Our strong team serves clients in North and South America, Europe, Australia, Africa, and Asia.
