Orca Limited, founded in 2004, serves as the China operation team for our U.S.-based company, Triboro Quilt Manufacturing, Inc. ("Triboro").
Triboro was established in 1933 by Sam Kaplan and his partner, Jack Monblatt, initially as an adult quilt manufacturer. The company was named Triboro because Sam and Jack conducted business in three boroughs of New York City, selling comforters during the day and sewing them in a loft on Monroe Street near the Lower East Side of Manhattan at night. Sam's sons, Alvin and Lenny, grew up in the business and helped transform it into a provider of infant bedding, pram suits, and toddler blanket sleepers from the 1950s to the 1990s. In recent years, the company has focused exclusively on managing infant bedding, bath, sleep n play, and layette branding and product solutions for major retailers. While our corporate office is in the United States (White Plains, New York), we value our team, business partners, customers, and the babies, their parents, and caregivers who use our products on an international scale. We have approximately 60 staff employees in the U.S. providing product concept and design, technical and art management, sales management, production planning and execution, sourcing/costing, finance, IT, and HR administration.
Our Orca operations, based in Qingdao, China, was set up in 2004 to offer supply chain management, executive services, and support to major retailers in newborn and infant products such as infant bedding, blankets, and bath layette playwear. Our dedication to quality and operational excellence has earned us recognition as a leader in value, product quality, and timely execution. We employ nearly 50 full-time staff in China and Southeast Asia and operate three regional offices. We collaborate closely with our factory partners as an integrated team. Our areas of expertise include design, fabrics, and supply chain management.
